A robot playing Rock Band on the iPhone

This amusing little robot is able to play the popular iPhone application Rock Band. Using light sensor and advanced robot fingers, it is able to play the game at the highest level of difficulty. 

Some guy named Joe Bowers took the challenge up and built one for him self.

Long video on robots in war (16:09)

This powerful video shows a talk with military analyst P. W. Singer, the author of Wired For War and the director of the 21st Century Defense Initiative at the Brookings Institution.

The video is from the popular TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) and we get to hear about how military combat will change with widespread use of robots. He will describe scenarios, that sounds like science fiction but may soon become reality.

Lego robot solving a Rubik’s cube

This is a funny little video of a robot built with Lego Mindstorms, that has been programmed to solve a Rubik’s Cube.

Using a light sensor, the Robot can see the colors of the squares on the cube and thereby try to solve the challenge by calculating a solution.

Deep Green, the robot that plays pool

This robot is able to both place the balls and shoot them in the right holes afterwards.

The same deveplopment team has also made some kind of augmented reality, where they use laser beams to show the possible paths of the pool balls you are about to hit. Watch the video to see a demonstration.

This pool-playing robot was developed at Vision lab in Queens University.
